Gippsland Grammar offers a number of scholarships for students entering Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 at St Anne’s Campus and Bairnsdale Campus (Junior School) and entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 at Garnsey Campus (Senior School).


Junior School

Academic scholarships are offered to students entering Years 5 and 6 each year. The tenure of these scholarships is until the end of Year 12. These scholarships are awarded to students whether or not they currently attend Gippsland Grammar. Students wishing to be considered for a Junior School academic scholarship must sit the ACER Primary School Scholarship exam on Saturday 8 May 2010.

Entry scholarships are offered to students entering Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 each year. The tenure of these scholarships is until the end of Year 6, although when offered to a student entering Year 6, it is given until the end of Year 8. These scholarships are awarded to students who are not currently attending Gippsland Grammar. Students wishing to be considered for an entry scholarship must sit the Junior School Entry Scholarship examination.   The scholarship test will be held at Bairnsdale Campus on Friday 20 August, and at St Anne's Campus on Saturday 21 August 2010.   Entries close at the school on Wednesday 18 August.

Music scholarships are offered to students of outstanding musical ability, entering Years 5 or 6 each year. Students who are not currently attending Gippsland Grammar may apply for these scholarships.

The value of these scholarships is usually 25% - 50% discount on tuition fees only.

Senior School

Academic Scholarships: The School will award scholarships to students of outstanding academic ability, entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 each year. These scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 or 11 whether or not they currently attend Gippsland Grammar. Scholarships for entry into Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 are available to students who are not currently attending Gippsland Grammar.

General Excellence Scholarships: The School will award scholarships to students who have above average performance in their academic studies, plus involvement in a number of extra curricular areas, e.g. drama, sport, music, community service. These scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 or 11 whether or not they currently attend Gippsland Grammar. Scholarships for entry into Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 are available to students who are not currently attending Gippsland Grammar.

Music Scholarships: The School will award scholarships to students of outstanding musical ability, entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 each year. These scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 or 11 whether or not they are currently attending Gippsland Grammar. Scholarships for entry into Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 are available to students who are not currently attending Gippsland Grammar.
The scholarships will carry between 25% and 100% remission of tuition fees.

All candidates for the academic and general excellence scholarships must sit for the ACER scholarship examination. An additional form must be completed for those sitting for the General Excellence and Music Scholarships.

Old Scholars Scholarship

The Gippsland Grammar Old Scholars Association has made available a Scholarship to assist a student, entering Years 10 or 11 in 2010, who shows commitment to his or her studies, and the co-curricular and extra-curricular program of their School whether or not they are currently attending Gippsland Grammar.
Preference will be given to the child of a past student of St Anne’s and Gippsland Church of England Girls Grammar School, Gippsland Grammar School, or St Anne’s and Gippsland Grammar School.
To apply for the Old Scholars Scholarship, please return the registration form, completed by the applicant, to the Registrar, Gippsland Grammar, PO Box 465, Sale, 3850, by the closing date for applications, Wednesday 31 August 2010.
Academic performance is not necessarily used to select the successful candidate.

The Alan & Edna Jackson Bursary

Gippsland Grammar invites students who are able to demonstrate outstanding abilities in a broad range of areas including academic, sporting, the arts, leadership and community involvement, to apply for the Alan and Edna Jackson Bursary.
This means tested bursary has been made available for a student, entering Years 10, 11 or 12 in 2010, who shows commitment to study, and the co-curricular and extra-curricular program of their School, who would not, in normal circumstances, be able to complete his or her education at Gippsland Grammar. The student may, or may not, be currently attending the School.
To apply for the Alan & Edna Jackson Bursary, please return the application form, completed by the candidate, to the Registrar, Gippsland Grammar, PO Box 465, Sale, 3850, by the closing date for applications, Wednesday 31 August 2010, together with a Gippsland Grammar Application for Bursary Assistance completed by the parent/guardian.
All secondary scholarships are tenable for the whole period of secondary schooling, and are reviewed annually on the basis of continued good academic progress and contribution to School life.

The School reserves some General Excellence Scholarships for students of either indigenous descent or recent refugee status. These are for entry into any secondary year level. A separate application is available on request from the Registrar.
