RAVE News

The RAVE / Chapel Connection One of the exciting developments in RAVE this year has been the decision undertaken by the staff in the RAVE Department to link the RAVE content in Years 7, 8 and 10 with the weekly chapel services.

Just last week a Year 10 Class under the direction of Mr McGauran organised a wonderful chapel service sharing their thoughts and insights on the Easter story. There was a dramatic play as well as some in-depth sharing by selected students. The sharing and dramatic presentation of the Easter story showed that these students have been engaging with their studies. It was a pleasure to hear their own theological voices expressing their views on such important matters. In this final week of the term, a Year 8 group and a Year 7 group will also conduct their own Chapel services. Each RAVE group will have an opportunity before the end of the year to have a turn at leading a chapel service. As I have mentioned before in a previous letter, the aim of RAVE is “to help clarify thinking on matters of profound importance”. What a delight it is and what a privilege we have in the RAVE Department to witness young people working hard to make sense of our world and of life. We appreciate your help at home in supporting the students to complete their homework and Assessment Tasks. Assessment Tasks for Semester 1 will be given out straight after the holidays. These tasks will provide ample opportunity for our students to work at clarifying their thinking on profound matters.

A very happy and blessed Easter to everyone from the RAVE Department
Rev’d Jon Taylor, Mr Lucas McGauran and Ms Sam Cooke
